SEARCHING FOR A MEMORY (Busco Tu Recuerdo)
At long last Sammy's new album, Searching For A Memory, will be released on Ashé Records/The Orchard on July 14, 2023. Featuring the brilliant Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and the fantastic Cuban singer Aymée Nuviola, the album is dedicated to the memory and music of his father, the romantic singer Charlie Figueroa, taking the classic boleros and bringing them into Sammy's perspective of modern Latin jazz arrangements.
